Current Positions Available

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER (Fixed Term Contract)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall monitoring of all the construction and establishment in the mine site
  • Produce and maintain detailed construction schedule
  • Install the Quality Control Plans (QCPs)
  • Initiate changes in accordance to the Charge Control Procedures for review and approval
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the contractors, including but not limited to monitor the Man Hours provided by the contractors, chair daily construction progress meetings with the contractors, ensure the work progress of the contractors is in accordance with the planned schedule, scope of work, resources and budget, ensure all contractors are in compliance with both company procedures and statutory requirements etc.
  • Responsible for controlling and justifying the Variation Orders raised by the contractors
  • Verify the work completion of the contractors including Fabrication
  • Compile and maintain the accurate records of Project Construction statistics, Construction Progress Meeting minutes, Weekly Progress Report
  • Produce the "Close-out Construction Pack" upon completion of the construction assignment, which includes Actual Start Date versus Scheduled Start Date, List of Approved Change Requests and Final Construction statistics
  • Handle any adhoc projects and assignments assigned by the Company

Work Location:

  • Mine Site at Hotazel, Northern Cape

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Built Environment field of study (Civil / Mechanical)
  • Min. 8 year's experience in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical construction project and had been working in similar capacity in the mining industry
  • Valid Driver's license
  • No criminal record

Advantageous but not compulsory:

  • Registered (or candidate) as a Professional Construction Manager (Pr. CM)

PROJECT MANAGER (Fixed Term Contract)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works safely within the Mine health and safety regulations including establishing and maintaining an interdependent safety culture within the team including the delivery of improvements in safety performance
  • Ensuring all projects are developed and delivered
  • Leading and managing capital expenditure projects through project life cycle, from initiation to closing
  • Preparation and submission of all required milestones and deliverables for project tollgate approvals
  • Establishing, communicating and delivering projects to approved timeframes and approved budgets
  • Project reporting in accordance with the project management framework requirements
  • Ensuring project are delivered fit for purpose with alignment with business and operational requirements to defined quality level
  • Pro-active engagement and management of key stakeholders and internal customers
  • Planning and managment of change of all allocated projects (variations in time, costs, scope etc.
  • Monthly reporting - accurate cashflow, cost, schedule and risk status
  • Mentoring of project team members and fostering a high performing team environment

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant Engineering degree and a recognised Project Management qualification are essential for success in this role
  • Extensive project management exposure to delivering simultaneous, complete life cycle, brownfield projects in the range of R1 million to R20 million within the resources industry to include a sound understanding of financial evaluation techniques (NPV, Payback, ROI etc.)
  • Demonstrated behaviour of successfully operating within a team environment and leading a team of project managers to deliver projects
  • Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing schedules and budgets
  • Experienced with MS suite and MS Project
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant experience in Contract Management
